A Partnership Built on Purpose: KSMC, KIIT University Signs MOU with TalentNomics India

A landmark collaboration to nurture the next generation of women leaders in India and beyond.
In a world where leadership is being redefined every day, the need for bold, purposeful collaborations has never been greater. KSMC (School of Mass Communication), KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, has taken a significant step in that direction by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TalentNomics India, the Indian affiliate of the globally recognized nonprofit, TalentNomics Inc.

This partnership is more than an institutional agreement. It is a shared commitment to building a future where women’s voices are not just heard, but are central to shaping organizations, communities, and economies worldwide.

Who Is TalentNomics India?
TalentNomics Inc. is a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Neeti Banerjee and Sumangala Prabhu, both Americans of Indian origin who bring decades of leadership experience from global organizations spanning technology, international development, finance, and healthcare consulting. Neeti Banerjee has held senior leadership roles at the International Monetary Fund, while Sumangala Prabhu is a partner at one of the world’s leading consulting firms.

TalentNomics India, its affiliate established under the laws of India, is led by Ipsita Kathuria, who brings extensive expertise in performance management, leadership development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion – experience gathered across India’s public and private sectors and the International Monetary Fund.

At its core, TalentNomics is driven by one powerful belief – expanding the number of women in leadership will transform the workplace and the world.

A Shared Vision: 100,000 Women Leaders and Beyond

The ambitions behind this partnership are as inspiring as they are concrete. TalentNomics envisions:

  • Training 100,000 Capable, Confident, Connected & Credible women leaders
  • Creating influential change agents in organizations across the globe
  • Building a global, virtual platform that strengthens the 4Cs for individuals and organizations
  • Establishing a global network that champions women’s leadership and pay equity
  • Transforming the world through an expanded pool of women’s leadership talent

For KSMC, KIIT – an institution that has long championed dynamic, skill-driven education in mass communication and leadership, this vision resonates deeply. Students here are not just being trained to communicate; they are being prepared to lead, influence, and inspire.

The Mission Behind the Movement

TalentNomics’ mission is unambiguous – to reimagine leadership for modern workplaces in the global economy by developing and leveraging the talents of women leaders to their fullest potential and eliminating the gender gap in leadership and pay.

This MOU brings that mission directly to the classrooms, corridors, and communities of KIIT Bhubaneswar, offering students, especially women, access to globally recognized frameworks, networks, and mentorship opportunities that can shape their professional journeys for life.

Why Women’s Leadership Matters More Than Ever

The gender gap in leadership is not just a social issue; it is an economic one. Research consistently shows that greater participation of women in leadership:

  • Increases economic growth at both organizational and national levels
  • Improves the wellbeing of women, families, and children
  • Expands the global talent pool, bringing in diverse perspectives and skills
  • Creates pay and leadership equity, making workplaces fairer and more sustainable
  • Enhances organizational performance and competitiveness
  • Spreads far-reaching societal benefits across communities

In a rapidly evolving communication landscape, where media, messaging, and influence are more powerful than ever, preparing women leaders in mass communication is not just timely, it is essential.

How This Collaboration Will Work?

The partnership will unlock a range of powerful opportunities for the KIIT community, including:

  • Mentorship and leadership training programs tailored for emerging women leaders
  • Access to international conferences that train, inspire, and connect women across borders
  • Participation in the prestigious global events celebrating individuals and organizations that empower the next generation of women leaders
  • Opportunities to connect with peers and mentors across industries around the world
  • A pathway to contribute to and benefit from TalentNomics India’s global networks.

KIIT’s Commitment to Inclusive Excellence

KIIT University has always stood for education with a conscience. KSMC, as its communication school, has consistently worked to produce graduates who are not just media professionals, but responsible, empathetic, and forward-thinking leaders. This collaboration with TalentNomics India is a natural extension of that ethos.

By aligning with a global organization whose work addresses structural inequities in leadership and pay, KSMC reaffirms its commitment to nurturing students who are ready to take on the world and change it for the better.
