We are delighted to announce that two faculty members of KIIT School of Mass Communication – KSMC, Dr. Sananda Mukherjee and aniruddha jena, PhD, have had their papers accepted for presentation at the upcoming International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) annual conference, which will be held in the historic city of Lyon, France from July 09-13, 2023.
Dr. Mukherjee’s paper, entitled “Navigating the Complex World of Health-Related Advertising: Exploring the Ethical and Regulatory Challenges,” delves into the intricate domain of health-related advertising and its associated ethical and regulatory challenges.
Aniruddha jena has had the privilege of having two papers accepted for presentation at the IAMCR conference. His first paper, titled “Countering the Global and Consolidating the Local: The Case of Radio Dhimsa in Koraput, Odisha,” was co-authored with Prof. Vinod Pavarala and Prof. Vasuki Belavadi. This paper focuses on the role of local media in the from of community radio in countering global knowledge practices and epistemologies. Additionally, his second paper, titled “Media and the Politics of Social Movements: A Critical Study on Odisha,” was co-authored with Dr. Bikram Keshori Jena. This paper explores the relationship and intersection between media and social movements in Odisha.
Moreover, we are pleased to announce that aniruddha jena has been awarded the IAMCR Travel Grant of USD 1500 to present his paper at the conference. This is a noteworthy accomplishment for our institution, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to both of them, wishing them a highly stimulating academic experience.
