The School of Mass Communication (KSMC) and School of Film & Media Sciences (KSFMS), KIIT Deemed to be University, organised a VFX & 3D Creative Workflow Workshop on 24 July 2026 in collaboration with YOOF, with Inno3D as the Technology Partner and Rapoo India as the Associate Partner. The workshop, held at Campus 18 Auditorium, was conducted to provide students with hands-on training in contemporary visual effects, 3D production and AI-assisted creative technologies through expert-led demonstrations and practical sessions.

Mr. Susanta Bahinipati, Assistant Professor, School of Film & Media Sciences, served as the Workshop Coordinator. The Dean of KSFT, KSFMS and KSMC, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Panda addressed the gathering with a warm welcome address. This was followed by concise comments and felicitations by the Head of KSFMS, Prof. Ganeswara Mohapatra, Head of School of Fashion Technology (KSFT), Prof. Bauri Raula and Head of KSMC, Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash.

The workshop brought together three industry partners with expertise across technology, digital media and creative solutions. Inno3D (Innovision Multimedia Limited) is a global technology brand specialising in high-performance computer hardware and NVIDIA GeForce-based graphics cards for gaming and multimedia applications. Rapoo India, the Indian market presence of Shenzhen Rapoo Technology, specialises in wireless and wired computer peripherals and accessories. YOOF, a New Delhi-based youth media platform and digital magazine, focuses on youth culture, lifestyle, arts, technology and creative storytelling through digital content, workshops and visual projects. Together, the partners contributed to providing students with exposure to contemporary tools, technologies and creative practices in the evolving fields of VFX and 3D production.

The workshop was led by Mr. Sourish Basu, VFX Artist and Educator, who introduced participants to modern VFX and 3D production workflows. Students were exposed to compositing, Blender-based 3D creation, rendering, simulations, AI-assisted workflows and GPU-powered content creation used across the visual effects, animation, gaming and filmmaking industries. Practical examples of Mr. Basu’s work was showcased, followed by a collaborative highlight exercise in which students ideated with him to create a fictional scenario.

The programme drew active participation from around 100 students across the Schools of Computer Science, Mass Communication, Fashion Technology, Film and Media Sciences, and more. Students from neighbouring institutions also participated as part of the workshop’s outreach initiative, creating an interactive learning environment that encouraged knowledge sharing across disciplines. The day concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation to all participants in recognition of their involvement. The workshop reaffirmed KIIT’s commitment to experiential learning and industry collaboration, enabling students to develop technical expertise and creative skills aligned with the evolving demands of the digital media, animation, gaming and filmmaking sectors.
